  • Embracing the Silver Lining

"So you're going grey, then." Like many men I’d embraced the trend of growing out my hair, looking more like Tom Hanks in Castaway than Ragnar Lothbrok from Vikings. The awkward "growing out" phase was easy to hide on Zoom, but not so much on a sunny day in West Auckland. I'd anticipated some shit talk when we met, but I didn't expect it to be about the colour rather than the style of my hair. Let's just say I'm no George Clooney, especially in terms of going grey. Upon close inspection that day, and every day since then, I've noticed  my transformation into a silver fox. Each strand represents the challenges we have overcome, the lessons we have learned, and the experiences that have shaped us. Embracing grey hair is not just about aesthetics; it's about wearing our stories with pride and embracing the beauty that comes with a life well-lived.
  • The Legacy of the Barber Pole

The history of barbershops is a fascinating reflection of how societal needs and norms evolve over time. From their origins as places where people went for medical procedures like bloodletting, to their role as social hubs for men to gather and relax, barbershops have always been an important part of communities.

Today, we are seeing a resurgence of interest in barbershops, as modern establishments offer a wider range of grooming services and cater to a diverse clientele. This trend reflects a growing interest in men's self-care and a recognition of the importance of taking time for oneself. At the same time, the social atmosphere of the barbershop remains valuable, providing a space for people to connect and engage in friendly conversation. As society continues to change and evolve, it will be interesting to see how the role of the barbershop continues to adapt to meet the needs of its customers.

  • The Importance of a Well-Stocked Bathroom: Embracing the Rituals of Manhood

A man's bathroom is more than just a necessary evil, it's a sanctuary of manhood where small pleasures and rituals can be enjoyed. It's not about spending hours on grooming, but finding a balance between neglect and obsession. With the right products and methods, a few minutes in the bathroom each day can make a significant difference in a man's grooming routine. From a quality shaving kit to grooming products tailored to your needs, a well-stocked bathroom is essential. Invest in good grooming tools, keep your bathroom organized, and add personal touches to make it your own sanctuary. Embrace the rituals of manhood, and let your bathroom be a reflection of your self-care and attention to detail. After all, a little effort in the bathroom can go a long way in enhancing your overall well-being and confidence
  • STOP PUTTING YOUR WILDSIDE TO THE SIDE

Every year men suffer through slow growing, patchy facial hair, but you don’t have to.
  • Body Wash vs. Soap

You’ve immersed yourself into the world of men’s grooming, you have the basics nailed. You know about using a facial cleanser, a daily moisturiser is an essential tool in your kit, so what else is there to keep in mind when trying to maintain healthy and happy skin?
  • Man..what? Manscapping….

Manscaping was once a taboo subject, where once, a good nether-regions hygiene consisted of a quick in-shower lather.

But is it really anything more than just pube mowing?

  • Getting older? Put some serious skincare into your game

As we approach or pass the half-century mark one thing is for sure; your skin isn’t the same as it was at 20.

If you are in your 50’s, wanting to delay the aging process, or at least reduce the ravages of the sun and general wear and tear on your skin, you better make sure you have these items in your arsenal.

  • The Beardstache

The Beardstache’, is a shortish mowser kept just a little longer than the stubble on the rest of your face. A classic workmanlike moustache, paired with a lightly developing beard. A look that suggests you did have a well-kept moustache, but a week or so of fishing, defending your property and generally being rugged has let it slip a little.
